Deadbeat Parents' Gambling Winnings Can Be Seized

The Colorado House of Representatives approved and sent to the Senate on Friday February 16, a measure that would hold delinquent parents responsible for paying child support by withholding their gambling winnings at casinos and racetracks.

The bill would require casinos and racetracks to check a database to see if a winner is delinquent on child support before making large payments. Casinos and racetracks would be required to withhold payments to any delinquent parent who wins more than $600 at a racetrack or $1,200 from a slot machine.
