Just found this website. Thank you for all the great info posted on here. My wife and I will be visiting Estes Park in mid October. While there we would like to make a day trip to Blackhawk And Central City, at that time of year do you think there would be any trouble with snow and ice on the road? How is the road in general between the two? Thanks

There is ALWAYS a chance for snow on the ground in October - these are dangerous mountain roads for sure..

You can take Hwy 119 all the way through Nederland and Rollinsville to Black Hawk (I recommend this way!!)

1. Head northeast on CO-66/Moraine Ave/US-36 toward Davis St Continue to follow CO-66/US-36

2. Slight right at CO-66/CO-7/St Vrain Ave/US-36
