Hi. I USED to be a memeber of this forum... back in 2004... I guess if your inactive a year (man time flys) you get knocked off.
I also thought there were alot more people on here at one time... what happened?
Anyway I thought of this place when trying to do research... I went to coloradocasinos.net looking for info on various casinos... like their websites etc... when there wasn't even a website listed for the gilpin which I would think would have one... I thought I'd try the forums...
I'm trying to find a place that offers pai gow poker.... if there IS anyplace that offers in in colorado. I just got back from vegas and thought that ... now that there is more tx hold-em tables here ... maybe if I could find a place that does BJ, pai gow and a LOW tx hold em table it would be easyer (and cheaper ) just to stay here and gamble.
BTW I'm disapointed to find out from a friend that apperently the 5 dollar lim is not helping matters in finding a lower then 2-4 table! I thought with the 5 dollar lim. I could find a quarter lim. tx hold em table other then online.
So anything LOWER then a 2-4 table would be great.
Ohn and I hope the no -smoke in pub. places passes... I'd play ALOT more poker if it does. (I played a few free tournys from denverpokertour and gave up because it was too smoky and I would get sick. )
Thanks for any help.
- Sharon
PS sorry for trying to do everything in one post here. |

Hey there Lady S - welcome back!
Let's see if I can address at lease 2 of your questions..
RE: what happened to the old CGF? We got hacked really severely and ended up losing everything. We're MUCH more secure now (hopefully).
RE: Pai Gow Poker. I have NOT seen PaiGow anywhere in Colorado. I'll check the regulations - I'm thinking it's not an authorized game.
More later...

aw man. sniff. I LOVE pai gow.
why wouldn't it be authorized? I play 5 min all the time. there is a 5% commition but that's only a quarter. so you get paid 4.75 a win off of 5.
you can play a long time ... I'll just bet it's because it's up there with BJ on low casino advantage. I'd bet if it were possible casino's here would drop their BJ tables too. :p bleh.
And I can't belive more casnois haven't picked up on tx hold em! I was reading other posts on here... only FOUR? maybe 5 now? sheesh. ::sigh::

Wow, I wasn't aware of that one. Anyway, it's great to see some action round here and I'm sure the place will be buzzing with members in no time.
The threads are cropping up anyway, so heres to a great community. |

| I contacted the colorado gaming commission, and they informed me that Pai Gow Poker is on the approved list of games, but no one has applied to play it at any Colorado Casinos. I think that is ridiculous. I love Pai Gow, and play it extensively whenever I'm in Vegas or around a reservation casino. Someone at a casino told me Pai Gow couldn't be "staked properly" with the $5 limit. I thought the new laws raising the limit might allow Pai Gow to be "staked". So far, no luck. Anyone else have any insight here? |

billy1 is totally correct. You will find that there are a LOT of approved table games in Colorado that simply aren't available at any of the casinos.
It took the casinos a long enough time just to get poker rooms installed, so they probably just don't understand that there are willing players and are afraid to setup a table devoted to pai gow unless they think they will get a return.
Things are going to change here , really soon...! (we hope!) |
