Ok - so you got stuck (with me) on I-70 for over 2 hours just trying to get to Black Hawk to blow off some steam?
You ended up more stressed when you got back than you were in the first place?
You've decided to "just not go" until CDOT finally gets their act together?
Wait a minute - there is a "back way" that will get you there in a reasonable time - GOLDEN GATE CANYON.
Just play like you were going up the good old way on US 6 out of Golden. Just don't turn onto US 6. Take the "other" road up the hill for a couple miles to CO 46. That's it. Just follow it all the way until it ends - that will be good old CO 119. Take a LEFT and 3-4 miles down will be Black Hawk.
Try this and you (along with many casino employees) will like it.
