| I enjoy playing Texas Hold'em in casinos, but online it's a bit boring to wait for my turn to come around. The trouble I have is trying to calculate my odds during the game. Anyone up for teaching their theories to a gambling gal? I know each person has their own way of working the odds so I don't want to steal your system... just get some basic tips. |

Odds are really tuff to explain in short term.Do you want to know pot odds, hand odds,or number of outs to determine these.Modes of play is determined by several things, limit,no limit, tournament, ring game, stakes. The biggest problem is odds are based on the number of players still in the hand. The more players the lower your odds. What it really comes down to is your hand worth chasing.Example; you have AK suited, the flop comes 2 5 6 rainbow. Although the AK is a great starting hand the flop made it worth a lot less. Is it worth chasing (my opinion no)A great player told me the best way to make money Playing poker is to fold.
I do not know how much experience you have but in my opinion odds especially on line are over rated especially in lower stakes games. You will have the chasers go all the way to the river to catch that ace,or straight or flush.even if you raise the most you can. Odds should be Observe,Determine,Decide,Simplify. If you are really interested in getting odds figured out go to shuffleupndeal.com and email them. with questions they will be glad to email some information back to you. |
