As a former casino employee, I received a mailing yesterday from the UFCW, the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union, wanting to know if I would commit to having them represent me "for the purpose of colective bargaining". What the really means is would I support a union vote, and ultimately join up.

Well, I don't work in a casino any more so I'm not going to respond one way or the other. But it certainly brings up an interesting question.

How will employees vote? What will the casinos do? How far will this go and what impact would it have if a union was adopted?
