Yesterday, December 16 2008, the citizens of Cripple Creek voted 267-13 to approve all three of the new gaming rules.

Max bet is now $100
Craps and Roulette can be offered
Any casino can stay open 24/7

Away we go, folks.

I just signed up to this site to ask about Blackhawk/Central City. Have you heard anything about those casinos? I can't seem to find any info online.

Welcome Stu,

Black Hawk votes on Jan. 18 and Central City votes on Jan. 20. From what I hear, the only issue even close to not passing is the 24/7 in Central City. Everything else will pass easily.

For all the towns, nothing new goes into effect until July 1, 2009. Let's hope everybody can stay open until then - things are really tough up there these days...

Steve

What kind of poker games do you think will be spread? I'm guessing .50/1.00 NLHE? 1/2 PLO? Maybe 10/20 LHE? What are the common games played in surrounding states?

Do you think this will allow for direct buy-ins to the HTP events?

I am taking some time off in July to get in on this. I think the chances are good that we will see big initial turnouts in the coming months.

Hey, great question. So far the casinos are pretty tight-lipped about their plans.

I'll be up there this weekend and will ask your specific question to a few dealers I know. We'll see what they say.
