Quite a battle is raging these days between the Gaming Commission and the State Department of Revenue.
Fur is flying about money - as in Gaming's budget and how they spend it. The Commission is blaming Revenue for not hiring 5 new auditors and the resulting lack of casino revenue audits for the last 9 months !!! No audits for 9 months? That sounds like a problem.
Then the Director of Revenue stopped the Commission from conducting a $3000 "retreat" in Golden. You shouldn't mess with a Commissioner's boondoogle.
Looks like the Governor will have to step in and resolve this little cat fight... Something I'm sure he's thrilled about.
We'll see how this all turns out.
