If I get tired of gambeling and want to sit back and have a few drinks where is the best place(s) to go?

Regular bars and theme type bars are always good. Thanks.

Hi JimG - I was hoping someone else would comment, but failing that - here's my 2 cents worth...

Most casino bars ar "gaming bars" these days - video poker, keno, the occasional blackjack. There's only a few non-gaming bars around. Isle has one at Kitt's. There's seating where you can drink around the center bar at Mountain High. In Central City you can go downstairs at Dostal. That's about it. My choice of those would be Isle.

Considering the rest - I'll give you my TOP TWO and my BOTTOM TWO.

Top two - Mountain Center Bar and The Gilpin (new) bar down on the Canyon end. Both these have a good drink selection, excellent multi-denom and multi-game machines, and good service from friendly bartenders. Scarlet's (CCity) main floor bar used be on this list, but they reduced the starting ROYAL jackpot from $2000 to $1000 - which made it just another video poker bar.

Bottom two - Bullwhacker's and the (this is a tie) bars at Black Hawk Station and Eureka. These places have old, broken down machines. Crappy service - I have sat for 30 minutes without a bartender even being there. Plus - they CHARGE for anything but the cheapest rot-gut. BHS and Eureka don't even have Players Cards. Forget it.

Ok - I pretty much only play VP at the various bars so I'll add something here...

I like the Fitgerald's bar - when I can find a seat.

I also like Central Station upstairs and Doc Holliday in Central City.
