Ameristar Casinos has announced that construction will begin on the long-anticipated hotel in May 2006.
We're talking 33 floors here - 536 rooms. A Black Hawk skyscraper!!! Rumors of a roller coaster on the top are unconfirmed, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Between the casino renovation (mostly completed) and the new hotel, they are spending $380 million. That's some serious investment.
I've been saying this for some time, and will say it again.
Everybody else in Black Hawk better get used to looking UP - Ameristar's position as the # ONE attraction is cast in stone for a long time to come.
